Twenty-two (22) U.S. military service members and veterans die by suicide every day, on average, due to factors like PTSD, anxiety, and depression. The #22for22 Pushups Challenge raises awareness of this issue, and influences communities to get more involved.

To join the #22for22 Pushups Challenge, record yourself doing 22 push-ups for 22 days, and then share that video on social media, like Instagram, adding the hashtag #22for22 and nominating/tagging a new person to complete the challenge each day you post. Your Instagram posts will appear below, if your account is not set to ‘private.’

(Some content featured here may not be related to this challenge, since some people may use the “#22for22” hashtag for unrelated social media posts.)

Day 1,428: I don’t mind the cold... once I get used to it for the season. But the constant switch from cold back to warm back to cold is making the adjustment particularly tough this time. 😅
•
The symbolism behind this video is about more than just pushups - the 22 Pushup Challenge originated as a way to spread awareness that an average of 22 combat veterans take their own lives each day.
•
A 2019 statistic from the Department of Veteran Affairs has shown that the number has decreased to 17 a day, but that is still too many!
•
If you need resources, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Or text HELLO to 741-741 for the Crisis Text Line.
•
If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, reach out and ask for help. It could save a life!
•
If you’d like to participate in the 22 Pushup Challenge, I encourage you to do so! Just record a video and post it on social media (Instagram, Facebook... wherever).
•
It doesn’t have to be “pretty” because it’s “not about the pushups” it’s about the awareness! Please tag me so I can support you with likes and comments (and a virtual pat on the back).

Day 1,418: a few days ago I mentioned I was up to something big... well, it was billboard big! That’s right, my face and a message about TikTok on a billboard!

Reposted from stonegrainleather Day 6/22 In honor of our US Veterans, we are committing to #22pushupchallenge for 22 days.

22 veterans commit suicide each day and you can help reduce these numbers by supporting our HEROES any way you can.

I challenge you to help raise awareness by committing 22 pushups a day for 22 days and challenge those around you as well. You'll be happier if you do.

24/7 Crisis Hotline: National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Network
1-800-273-TALK (Veterans, press 1)

I nominate one of the best beard oil creators cherrycitybeardandshave (also makes shave soap)

Rules are simple:
Once you are nominated, your 22 days starts the following day.
Everyday you record yourself doing 22 push-ups. Try your best to reach 22. If that means doing assisted (from your knees) push-ups or that you have to stop and take a break that's fine but try to get them all done in one video.
Everyday you must nominate a different person.

We encourage you to reach out to the Veterans in your life and remind them that they have your love and support! ❤️We must continue to find the emotional and physical strength to win this battle.
